TOKYO — Ski lift ticket prices across Japan are climbing as resorts grapple with labor shortages and aging infrastructure.
Over the past three years, the average price for a one-day adult lift pass has surged around 30%, approaching the 7,000 yen (about $45) mark. Some premium ski resorts’ lift tickets now exceeds 10,000 yen, prompting operators to innovate pricing strategies, including flexible time-based passes to encourage longer stays.
