JAL and ANA fly high on record inbound tourism


TOKYO — Earnings at Japan’s big airline and railway companies swelled in the nine months to December thanks to the record numbers of foreign tourists who are traveling to the country.

Japan Airlines on Tuesday posted revenue of 1.39 trillion yen ($8.9 billion) for the nine months through December, up 10.9% from the same period in 2023. Net profit increased 6% to 91 billion yen.
