SEOUL — As authorities investigate last week’s fire on an Air Busan plane, South Korean media reports suggest that the cause may have been a portable power bank or electronic device in an overhead bin, spurring calls to regulate where carry-ons can be placed.
The fire began around 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 28 as the Hong Kong-bound jetliner waited to take off from Gimhae International Airport in Busan, about 20 minutes after its scheduled departure time.
