Japan to tout investment record in Trump charm offensive


TOKYO — Japan’s diplomatic efforts to court U.S. President Donald Trump are already under way as Tokyo looks to emphasize its investment record to bolster its position in trade and security negotiations.

Takeshi Iwaya became the first Japanese foreign minister to attend a U.S. presidential inauguration on Monday. He was scheduled to meet Tuesday with his U.S. counterpart, Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
