China’s Xiaomi rolls EVs, appliances into shopping malls in shift to lifestyle brand


GUANGZHOU — China’s Xiaomi aims to have 20,000 brick-and-mortar stores nationwide by the end of 2025, up 50% from the end of September, as it tries to sell consumers everything from cars to phones to appliances.

Xiaomi will grow in major cities, “and we have already started penetrating into more rural places,” President Lu Weibing told an earnings conference earlier this month.
