TOKYO — Japan’s core inflation rate slowed for the second straight month in October due to lower electricity prices, according to government data released on Friday.
The core consumer price index, which excludes fresh food, rose 2.3% from the same month a year earlier, slowing from an increase of 2.4% in September. The latest figure from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications aligns with the median forecast of 2.2% among economists surveyed by QUICK.
