Strip China’s privileges and let Trump impose tariffs: commission

WASHINGTON — In a move that could potentially give U.S. President-elect Donald Trump a free hand in raising tariffs on Chinese goods, an independent commission that advises Congress on China has recommended stripping Beijing of its trade privileges.
