U.S., Japan, South Korea formalize pact wary of emboldened North Korea


LIMA, Peru/WASHINGTON — Japan, the U.S. and South Korea agreed on Friday to establish a Trilateral Secretariat, formalizing the partnership to strengthen cooperation in Asia amid concerns over deepening military ties between North Korea and Russia.

The trilateral coordination office will be responsible for coordinating the security pact and ensure the three countries implement their commitments.
