TOKYO — U.S. President Donald Trump has approved Nippon Steel’s deal for U.S. Steel, a major milestone in the protracted $14.9 billion deal.
The plan was announced in December 2023, but has been paralyzed ever since due to “national security concerns” and political wrangling in the world’s largest economy.
