Japan stem cell researchers claim success in Parkinson’s treatment


OSAKA — Japanese researchers have reported promising results in clinical trials of a treatment for Parkinson’s disease using iPS cells, which may one day lead to more substantial improvements in symptoms.

The results of the trials by Kyoto University’s Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA) were published in British scientific journal Nature on Wednesday.
