JAKARTA — The Indonesian government on Tuesday revoked four companies’ nickel mining licenses in Raja Ampat, Southwest Papua, following concerns over environmental damage in the richly biodiverse area popular with divers.
Bahlil Lahadalia, minister of energy and mineral resources, said the companies are Kawei Sejahtera Mining, Mulia Raymond Perkasa, Anugerah Surya Pratama and Nurham. They are all privately owned.
