TOKYO — Suzuki Motor’s car exports from India increased by 18% to a record-high of 333,000 vehicles for the year ended March, but sales in the key South Asian market flatlined.
The Japanese company is increasingly reliant on the South Asian country both as its main production hub and as its principal market. The 1.79 million units sold to dealers in India in the fiscal 2024 year, up 0.1% from the previous year, accounted for 55% of its global sales.
