SHANGHAI/HONG KONG — China on Friday raised its retaliatory tariff rate against the U.S. to 125%, from 84%, and said it would not respond to further hikes by President Donald Trump.
The announcement could mark an inflection point in the spiraling trade war between the superpowers.
