BENGALURU — Indian billionaire and co-founder of e-commerce company Flipkart, Binny Bansal, is taking on Asia’s largest retailers with his new venture, hoping that the generous use of technology will give it an edge over rivals.
In March, Bansal launched Opptra, a service that will operate local franchises on behalf of brands eyeing such markets as India, Southeast Asia and members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, including the United Arab Emirates.
