HONG KONG — In a year full of geopolitical uncertainty and rising trade barriers, Chinese automakers are not backing away from global markets but instead ramping up their expansion efforts.
On Tuesday, Xpeng said it is targeting more than doubling its overseas sales to over 40,000 units and expanding to over 300 sales and service stores worldwide this year. The company will also establish new overseas R&D centers to develop and test its Turing AI driving system internationally in 2025 and bring its advanced AI driving capabilities to more countries in 2026 and beyond.
