PALO ALTO, California — U.S. electric vehicle giant Tesla achieved record deliveries in China in the fourth quarter, despite rising competition from domestic carmakers such as BYD and a global economic slowdown that weighed on EV demand.
However, the company is caught “in a bind” when it comes to launching its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system in China, which CEO Elon Musk previously said he expected to get approved by the end of 2024.
