NEW DELHI/JAKARTA — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Saturday held wide-ranging talks in New Delhi on cooperation in sectors such as defense manufacturing and maritime safety, seeking to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Prabowo, who is on a state visit to India at the invitation of Modi, is the chief guest for the South Asian country’s Republic Day celebrations on Sunday. This is his first visit to India in his capacity as president after he assumed office in October last year.
