TOKYO — The Trump administration’s Indo-Pacific policy will be a key item on the agenda when Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya meets with U.S. Secretary of State nominee Marco Rubio in Washington next week.
Iwaya is set to arrive in the U.S. on Sunday and stay through Thursday. He will attend the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on Monday, the same day Rubio is expected to be confirmed as secretary of state.
