TOKYO — A Japanese startup’s crowdfunding success shows how a promising idea — autofocusing eye glasses — can resonate with the public even if it is still a work in progress.
ViXion, a spinoff from the Japanese optical equipment maker Hoya, began crowdfunding for the ViXion01 glasses in 2023. The startup ended up collecting more than 400 million yen ($2.5 million) in funding, far above the 5 million yen goal.
