SEOUL — South Korean anti-corruption investigators and police suspended efforts to arrest impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol on Friday following a standoff with the presidential security detail.
The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials said in a message to reporters that it had judged the attempt to gain access to Yoon’s residence to serve him with a warrant for alleged insurrection to be “virtually impossible.”
