TOKYO — The Japan Business Federation, or Keidanren, has decided to appoint Yoshinobu Tsutsui, chairman of Nippon Life Insurance and a Keidanren vice chairman, to succeed Masakazu Tokura, who will step down in May 2025, Nikkei learned Monday.
This will be the first time Keidanren has chosen a chairman from a financial institution. Tsutsui’s appointment will be confirmed at a meeting of the chairman and vice chairmen to be held Jan. 14.
