HALIFAX, Nova Scotia — Top foreign policy experts and key government officials from major Western democracies gathered at an international forum in Canada in late November to discuss security issues, with a particular focus on how the U.S. and its allies can work together to address global challenges under the upcoming Donald Trump administration.

At the annual Halifax International Security Forum, held in Nova Scotia’s Halifax from Nov. 22 to Nov. 24, many participants emphasized the importance of close strategic cooperation among leading Western countries to counter the growing threat of deepening military ties between China, Russia, North Korea and Iran.
