BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 5. The Global Baku
Summit of Religious Leaders is making a significant contribution to
addressing humanity’s problems, President of the Turkish
Directorate of Religious Affairs Ali Erbas, attending the event,
told media, Trend
reports.
Erbas painted a picture of optimism, believing that the summit
would soar to new heights and reach its destined goals.
“It is crucial that the challenges facing humanity are addressed
and solutions are found,” he added.
To note, within the framework of the 29th session of the
Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate
Change (COP29), the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the
State Committee for Work with Religious Entities, the Muslim
Council of Elders, the Caucasus Muslims Department (CMD), and the
UN Environment Program are holding a Global Summit of Religious
Leaders in Baku.
This global forum is attended by approximately 30 leaders from
both secular and traditional religions, heads of prominent
religious centers (including patriarchs, officials from the
Vatican, and Al-Azhar), internationally recognized religious and
public figures from a variety of faiths and regions,
representatives from government, academia, and religious
institutions from 55 countries and 30 international organizations,
and media representatives.
